Community: Relaunch of Thanet Disabled Riding Centre Website

On Friday we were proud to launch the new website for Thanet Disabled Riding Centre. Check it out at https://www.disabledridingcentre.com/.

"Thanet Disabled Riding Centre is an independent non-profit organisation located in Broadstairs supported by a team of volunteers, catering for 70 riders and therapies a week which has been running for 50 years and is home to 5 ponies."

The previous website had been created and managed by an ex-volunteer and had done a good job for a number of years.

But as Broadbiz are a member of Broadstairs Business Club and Thanet Disabled Riding Centre is one of the organisation we support, we started working with them to build a new site as part of the Broadbiz Community Programme.

Website Features

The website boasts a bunch of features:

• Details of the organisation and its history
• Profiles of the ponies; Smartie, Missy, Roadie, Henry and Bertie
• The services offered including Riding sessions for schools and individuals
• Volunteering details including SEN placements, Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) and Work experience
• The ability to donate one-of or monthly amounts
• Content Management elements such as News, Events, FAQs and Galleries

Technical Aspects

Technically, the website uses a bunch of features:

• Our Bootstrap framework
• Our Content Management Elements - News, Events, FAQs and Galleries
• Responsive website layout used by mobile devices, phones and tablets
• SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is the encryption between your website and its visitors
